The Textile Hub is a group of established Newcastle based artists working with textiles who have a vast experience of delivering high quality workshops. The artists are passionate about preserving traditional textile skills and promoting them in innovative and contemporary ways. We will be sharing our professional skills and love of textiles in a programme of classes dedicated to textile art and design. The classes will be at levels to suit beginners as well as those with some experience.
The programme includes courses with Jane Frazer, a multi media textile artist and weaver, Fiona Rutherford, a tapestry weaving artist, Ali Rhind who is a renowned fine art hooky and proggy mat maker, Mandy Pattullo, a specialist in collage and printmaking also Jayne Turner, a freelance fashion textile designer, specialising in fabric manipulation, embellishment, screen print & hand dye.
Most of the tutors will tailor courses to suit individual needs and work on a one to one basis if you are interested. Between the five of us we have vast experience in loads of different textile techniques. We are also well qualified to do portfolio surgeries for those wanting to apply for art courses in Higher Education.
If you work in a Museum or Art Gallery or are a club or Guild member and would like to book any of the Textile Hub tutors for talks or workshops please phone or email us to discuss the possibilities.
It is always difficult to pick dates and times to suit everyone so if you are unable to manage the courses selected please let us know what your prefered days and times are. We can put you on our waiting list and try to accomodate your preferences. If you have any requests for other textile courses please let us know and we will see if we can arrange them.
