Ali Rhind was instrumental in reviving interest in the tradition of mat making in the North East of England. She has now developed her own contemporary approach to the craft. She uses her fine art background to produce large scale fine art rugs, furniture and 3D sculptural forms.  Ali has taught both locally and nationally for many years and she also works to commission. Her work can be seen in both public and private collections.
